Renault has launched a new MY22 Kiger in India. The new 2022 Renault Kiger arrives with a few cosmetic upgrades without any change to the powertrain. It has become the third car from the manufacturer to debut first in India prior to global markets; the company has previously launched Duster and Kwid. This product strategy has brought a significant volume of sales to the automobile manufacturer.

2022 Renault Kiger price & availability

The new sporty 2022 Renault Kiger is priced at a starting price of ₹5.84 Lakh in Delhi. The new price is Rs 5000 costlier than the previous year’s model. Booking for the 2022 Kiger has commenced across the country.

2022 Renault Kiger features

Starting off with the design, the 2022 Renault Kiger arrives with a redesigned front bumper including a new silver skid plate. The tailgate is also decorated with a new chrome finish. Other upgrades include turbo door decals, 16-inches diamond-cut alloy wheels with red accent wheel caps. The maker has installed a PM2.5 air filter standard across all models of the 2022 Kiger. Feature-wise, the new compact SUV-like Kiger offers cruise control and a wireless phone charging dock.

The new Kiger has achieved a 4-Star safety rating for adults by the Global NCAP. It has four airbags for the driver and front seat installed in front and sideways.

The new 2022 Renault Kiger lends the engine from its predecessor which includes a 1.0L naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0L turbo-petrol engine. The former combination produces a 72hp and 96Nm torque offering a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. While the latter engine delivers a power of 100hp and 160Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearboxes.

2022 Renault Kiger rivals in Indian market

The 2022 Renault Kiger will compete against major rivals including Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, and Mahindra XUV300 among others.
