Tipster Majin Bu reached out to X to post about potential specifications for the 2024 iPad Pro lineup that counts three screen sizes, a cocktail of OLED and micro-LED, and a few more things on top. As disclaimed by Bu himself, take these specs leak with a grain of salt.
2024 iPad Pro lineup to get OLED panels
Per Majin Bu, the 2024 iPad Pro lineup is expected to have three screen sizes – 11-inch, 12.9-inch, and 14.1-inch. Both 11” and 12.9” iPad Pro models will get OLED while the largest 14.1” is speculated to resort to micro LED panels to save the costs incurred on OLED panels that will be eventually forwarded to the end users. Moreover, using micro LED panels keeps Apple closer to OLED panels.
The displays are speculated to light up at a max 3,000 nits which is great even when viewing the display against bright sunlight. The slates are expected to bring thinner bezels as well for a better user experience.
Bu further added that the 2024 iPad Pro lineup will support the new Apple Pencil 3 which’ll have interchangeable magnetic tips. There’s an Aluminum magic keyboard available with the upcoming slate as well.

What’s amazing is the choice of chipset. According to Majin Bu, the upcoming 2024 iPad Pro is expected to get the latest M3 SoC under the hood along with 8GB of RAM. This should put iPad Pros in the league of powerful slates compared to both predecessors and competitors. The slate will bring two USB-C ports, MagSafe instead of Smart Connector, and a few more things.
It will be powered by iPadOS as usual although it remains to be seen if it’s iPadOS 17 or iPadOS 18 depending upon when it arrives. The slate will also get iPhone 15’s Dynamic Island which lets you control the device, take actions, and more without flicking through various taps to reach the end goal such as navigation or sports scores, etc. There won’t be any other software-related changes as reported.
Again, the tipster quoted that he isn’t 100% sure if the above mentioned will make it through or whether there will be changes which are apparent given the fact that we are still a few months away from the purported launch.
2024 iPad Pro Launch Date
It’s not the first time we have heard about the 2024 iPad Pro and the launch date. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is expected to undergo mass production in the late first quarter or the second quarter of 2024 followed by launch sometime later.
