Toyota’s electric SUV strategy is finally taking shape, and the 2026 Urban Cruiser Ebella plays a key role in that plan. Positioned as a sensible, mid-size electric SUV, it focuses more on practicality and efficiency than outright flash.
However, as with most Toyota line-ups, choosing the right variant isn’t as straightforward as it looks. While the base model covers the essentials well, the mid variant raises questions, and the top trim brings meaningful upgrades that could justify the premium.
In this variant-wise breakdown, we analyse what each Ebella trim offers, what’s missing, and which version makes the most sense for different types of buyers.

2026 Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella Variant-Wise Features Breakdown
2026 Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella E1

The entry-level Urban Cruiser Ebella trim — E1 — comes with a 49 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of up to 430 kilometers. The battery is connected with a front axle-mounted motor that produces 144 PS of peak power and 189 Nm of peak torque.
What’s good is that the car offers drive modes, including a snow terrain mode, right from the base model. Other safety features, such as seven airbags, day/night IRVM, ABS and EBD, stability control, and hill-hold control, are standard on the Ebella. Buyers also get front and rear parking sensors, rear defogger (with wiper and washer), and TPMS. All the models also offer an electronic parking brake.

Inside, the cabin features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment screen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with a four-speaker audio system. There’s a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display as well. Additional features include steering-mounted controls, multiple USB charging sockets, automatic climate control with a built-in air purifier, ambient lights, rear AC vents, and all power windows with one-touch up/down.
For added comfort, there are front/rear armrests, reclining and sliding rear seats, fabric seat upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel (with tilt and telescopic adjustment), keyless entry and start, and automatic headlights. You get LED headlamps with DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a full-size spare wheel.
What’s Missing: While the Ebella E1 includes all the necessary features, it lacks a few good-to-have features, such as power-adjustable driver seats, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, a reverse parking camera, and larger battery pack options.
Writer’s Note: The Ebella E1 could be the right choice for buyers on a budget, looking for a secondary Toyota EV to ride around the city. Expect the car to offer around 300 kilometers of real-world range.
2026 Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella E2

Ebella E2, the mid-specced variant, seems like an incremental update over the E1. In fact, the company could have sold it as the E1’s extended-range variant, as it features the larger 61 kWh battery pack that can go up to 543 km on a single charge and produces 174 PS of peak power and 189 Nm of peak torque.
Besides the battery, there’s very little that differentiates the E2 from the baseline trim: a luggage shelf, rear parking camera, and a wireless phone charger. That’s it.
What’s Missing: There’s no major upside to upgrading from the E1 to the E2 variant in terms of the features. An electric sunroof could have been a tempting addition for certain buyers.
Writer’s Note: The only real differentiator between the E1 and the E2 is the battery. If you’re looking for the cheapest 61 kWh variant, the E2 could be right for you. Expect it to deliver around 450 kilometers of range in real-world conditions.

2026 Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella E3

The Urban Cruiser Ebella’s top trim, E3, is only available with the larger battery pack (61 kWh). Unlike E2, the variant adds many features, making it an easy recommendation for top-model buyers.
Over the E2, the E3 trim adds features like an automatic headlamp leveller, ventilated front seats, leatherette seat upholstery, a single-pane fixed glass roof, a powered driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS (with adaptive cruise control), and a 10-speaker JBL sound system.

What’s Missing: Ebella’s top model misses out on features like fog lamps, a rear lighting bar, roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, frunk, rear cross-traffic alerts, ventilated rear seats, a driver monitoring system, and a hands-free powered tailgate. An all-wheel-drive variant, perhaps at a higher price, could also appeal to enthusiast buyers.
Writer’s Note: E3 is Urban Cruiser Ebella’s top-end variant with all the must-have and good-to-have features. It won’t keep you missing the popular features like Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera. Hence, it’s better to go with E3 than E2, provided that you have the required budget.
