Much anticipated 5G network has started reaching out Indian Airports now. The overall rollout of 5G in India has been much slower than expected. The only vendors of 5G network are Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel and the airports equipped with these are few of the busiest ones.

Complete layover of 5G network over India is still a far-fetched plan but commercial zones such as Airports have been equipped with the high-speed network. Here are few of the hand-picked airports equipped with 5G network already:

Kempegowda International Airport – Bengaluru

One of South India’s busiest airport, Bengaluru’s International Airport is 5G ready now. Only available to Airtel customers for now, Terminal 2 of the airport is where you can enjoy the high-speed network. “Airtel customers don’t have to change their current SIM as the current 4G SIM rolled out by Airtel is 5G ready.”, stated by Airtel. Customer can access High-Definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos, etc.

Indira Gandhi International Airport – Delhi

The grandeur IGI Airport of Delhi is usually the first one in India to welcome novelty. In this case as well, Indira Gandhi International Airport of Delhi was the first one to equip 5G network starting from Terminal 3. The official announcement stated that customers carrying a 5G-enabled smartphone with 5G SIMs will start experiencing highs-speed network. The network can be used at the Domestic Departure Pier and International Arrival baggage area at Terminal 3. It will cover from T3 arrivals to Multi-Level Car Parking.

Lohegaon Airport – Pune

Another airport from South India to get 5G services ready is Lohegaon Airport of Pune. This is the 2nd airport after Kempegowda to get 5G high-speed network rolled out for its customers. Bharti Airtel is making the lead in 5G race of India by deploying it in 8 different cities. Including airports as well improves the reach of the network’s capabilities. Accessible from every point of the airfield, Airtel’s 5G Plus count it’s capabilities. Along with a promise to deliver 20-30 times higher speeds than we get today and a better voice calling experience.

Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport – Varanasi

Being proudly Uttar Pradesh’s first, Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport to extend high speed network 5G services for its customers. Bharti Airtel is responsible for this contract as well and offers network capabilities all over this airport. Passengers using Airtel will be able to enjoy the lightning-fast network. And 5G Network is capable of faster downloads and seamless video streaming. Locations like arrival and departure terminals, lounges, boarding gates, migration and immigration desks, security areas, baggage claim belts and parking lots are within the reach of network.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport – Nagpur

Nagpur’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport becomes the 2nd airport in Maharashtra to offer 5G network’s swift services. Bharti Airtel implementing its 5G Plus will enable passengers flying in and out of Orange City to enjoy rapid services. Passengers using Airtel 4G SIM will also be able to use the 5G network and there is no need to switch the SIM. The flash point is the customers will be able to use high-speed Airtel 5G Plus on their existing data plans.

As the lower latency and increased bandwidth 5G Network is spreading across the country. It won’t be much late to see all airports and commercial zones in India enjoying its’ services.
