French technology brand Alcatel is preparing to re-enter the Indian smartphone market with devices manufactured in India. Operating independently under a license from Nokia, Alcatel is managed by the Chinese company TCL Communications. The brand plans to launch a minimum of four new smartphones in India. The company has announced that it will soon unveil a series of Alcatel smartphones, and listings for these upcoming models are already available on the e-commerce platform Flipkart.

Alcatel to launch 4 smartphones soon

Alcatel has announced its upcoming launch in India, where it intends to introduce new devices, starting with a smartphone that features a stylus. The pricing details for this phone remain unclear, but similar devices in the market include the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Infinix Note 5 Stylus, and Galaxy Z Fold 6. In addition to selling smartphones, Alcatel plans to manufacture its devices locally in India and establish a comprehensive service network across the country to support its customers. According to trusted tipster Mukul Sharma, the Alcatel stylus-equipped phone will be available for purchase on Flipkart.

In addition to the stylus-equipped phone, the company is set to introduce a selection of premium smartphones in India. However, four budget models from Alcatel have appeared on Flipkart, marked as “Coming Soon.” These models include the Alcatel Idol 4, Alcatel U5 HD, Alcatel 3X, and Alcatel Onetouch Flash 6042D. While these phones are not new releases from Alcatel, they have not been previously available in the Indian market. This suggests that, alongside the launch of premium smartphones, the French brand is also aiming to introduce budget-friendly options in India as part of a broader expansion strategy.

Alcatel has a history in the Indian market, having made its debut in 1996 with the sale of cordless phones. In 2006, the company merged with Lucent and expanded its offerings to include a range of telecom equipment. However, after Nokia acquired Alcatel Lucent in 2016, the brand withdrew from India, facing intense competition from rising tech companies. According to reports, Alcatel sold its final headset in India in 2018, but it is now preparing for a significant return to the market.
