Amazon just announced a new member within their e-reader lineup, the upgraded Kindle Paperwhite. Touting it as the company’s fastest Kindle to date, this latest iteration aims to refine the e-reader experience. The upgraded Kindle Paperwhite is faster, packs in a larger battery while maintaining the thin and light form factor.

This isn’t just a minor refresh; the all-new Kindle Paperwhite boasts substantial improvements under the hood and on the surface.

  • Performance Boost: At its core lies a new dual-core processor, driving a claimed 25% increase in page turn speed compared to its predecessor.
  • Expansive Visuals: The most noticeable change is the display. It now measures 7-inches corner-to-corner (the largest ever for a Paperwhite) with slimmer bezels. Utilizing an oxide thin-film transistor, Amazon claims to have the highest contrast ratio yet for a Paperwhite, making text even sharper.

  • More Storage & Battery: Despite the larger display, the new Paperwhite happens to be the thinnest in its category while still retaining its IPX8 waterproof rating. It now packs in a larger battery that promises 12-weeks of use on a single charge. Storage has also been doubled to 16GB, offering ample space for thousands of ebooks.

Pricing & Availability

The new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (12th Generation) comes in a single black color option and is priced at Rs 16,999. It is available for purchase on Amazon.in starting tonight.

Amazon also has brought in covers for Kindle Paperwhite in Black, Marine Green, and Tulip Pink colors which are priced at Rs 1,999.
