Apple Discontinues iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus In India

Post Apple iPhone SE 2020 official launch, the Cupertino giant has officially discontinued both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in India. Both of these phones will no longer be sold at Apple stores in India. Though, e-tailers like Amazon, Flipkart and TataCliq may continue till they clear out their inventories.

Apple first announced the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus way back in September 2017 alongside iPhone X. Interestingly newly launched iPhone SE 2020 follows the same design but has better hardware.

Thus it’s obvious that the iPhone SE 2020 replaces the iPhone 8. It houses a 4.7-inch Retina HD Display and has a glass front and back and an aluminium frame. It comes in black, white and the Product Red color options. For the Indian market, Apple iPhone SE 2020 price starts at Rs 42,500 onwards.

The iPhone SE 2020 innards are similar to those of the iPhone 11 series. It is driven by A13 Bionic chipset which is one of the fastest mobile processors in the market. Apple offers the SE2020 in three storage options- the 64GB, 128GB and the 256GB.

Optics wise, the iPhone SE 2020 is equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera f/1.8 aperture Wide camera. The single-camera on iPhone SE 2020 offers Portrait mode, along with six Portrait Lighting effects and Depth Control. For selfies, the iPhone SE 2020 includes a 7-megapixel camera, which is also capable of recording full HD videos.

Apple will start taking the iPhone SE 2020 pre-orders from April 17 and shipping will commence from April 24 in US and 40 other countries.
