The leaks regarding the iPhone 15 series have been doing rounds on the internet for a long time now. In a recent development, new images of the iPhone 15 have been leaked online, and they confirm a few things about the upcoming phone by the Cupertino giant. In the images, we can clearly see the smartphone carrying the USB Type-C port, which is going to be the biggest change in the history of Apple.

The two leaked images of the device show the front panel and the bottom. The front panel image has not a lot to reveal about the design of the device. However, the dual cutout design of Dynamic Island is still pretty visible. This also confirms the rumours that suggested that Apple will bring the Dynamic Island in the base variant of the iPhone 15 series. The image that shows the bottom of the smartphone includes a USB Type-C port, speaker cutouts and two exposed screws.

The bottom design looks quite similar to Apple iPhone 14. The only major difference between the two is the inclusion of a USB Type-C port. Apart from that, previous reports suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will come with rounded edges and thinner bezels. However, one thing which we are sure of is that we will not get to see a lot of changes in terms of design. All other details regarding the Apple iPhone 15 series are still under wraps. Expectations are that we will get to know more about the lineup as soon as Apple makes an official announcement about the same.

Why is Apple going for the USB Type-C port?

The feud between Apple and the European Union for the universal charger has been going on since 2020. Finally, European Union was able to make Apple understand that the brand has to offer USB Type-C ports instead of lightning ports. The main reason behind the same was to reduce the amount of e-waste that is generated by the use of distinct chargers. Moreover, the decision is consumer-centric as Apple users will no longer supposed to have a hard time finding a charger that fits their phone as any Android charger will do the work.
