Apple is most likely to host its annual iPhone Series launch event in September this year wherein the brand will announce the iPhone 15 Series. If the event happens like every other year, then there are less than 2 months to go for the day and thus prior to any kind of official announcement, some leaked information has given us an idea about what to expect. Apple is expected to launch 4 models in the iPhone 15 Series- iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, this time all the models are tipped to get some big upgrades.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Models: Expected Changes

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims that the new iPhone 15 Pro Models will have titanium frames instead of stainless steel which will make them stronger and lighter.

The displays of Pro Models might also get thinner bezels because of the new LIPO display technology, thus shrinking the size of the black border by about a third.

Apple is apparently using a new technology with the display of iPhone 15 Pro Models to create the brand’s ‘Dream iPhone’ that is truly all-screen. Gurman claims that Apple has been working for years to develop an iPhone without borders around the display or cutouts for cameras and sensors.

The brand is now expected to use ‘Low Injection Pressure Over-Molding’ or LIPO to shrink the border size from 2.2mm to 1.5mm.

The mute switch might be swapped out for a customizable button and the Lightning port might be replaced by USB-C. Solid-state buttons with haptic feedback and increased RAM are also expected. Reports claim that a customizable action button, faster A17 Bionic chipset, WiFi 6E support, and an upgraded Ultra Wideband Chip might also find their way to iPhone 15 Pro Models.

iPhone 15 Series to get a Price Hike?

All these upgrades will come at a price. Gurman claims that all 4 models of the iPhone 15 Series might get costlier across the US as well as in other countries. A report by MacRumors contended that the iPhone 15 Pro might be priced 100 USD more expensive than iPhone 14 Pro, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max may cost 100 to 200 USD more than iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Gurman also claims that the next Apple Watch processor, S9 will have a sizable performance bump making the first speed boost since 2020.

Apple usually announces its new iPhones and Apple Watches in Mid-September and whenever they launch, they will compete against Samsung’s new lineup of fold and flip phones that launched last week.
