Apple has been working hard to launch the annual iPhone 15 Series in 2023. The iPhone 15 Series will include- iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. Apple discontinued its Mini iPhone series last year due to low sales but has decided to bring back the SE smartphones for those who were interested in Mini iPhone models. Ever since the news about iPhone 15 Series started surfacing online, there have been rumors about the Pro Models getting major hardware upgrades. Now, the latest we hear is that these hardware upgrades might lead to a hike in the prices of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Jeff Pu, an analyst in Hong Kong claims that the pricing of the iPhone 15 pro series would be higher due to hardware upgrades. If this happens, it will be the first time Apple will increase the price of iPhone Pro models since 2017 when the iPhone X was launched.

Possible Reasons behind the Price Hike

iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to come with a titanium alloy body, a tactile sensor with a taptic engine for haptics, solid-state buttons, an A17 Bionic chipset, larger RAM, periscope lenses for Pro Max, and much more. These hardware upgrades would lead to iPhone 15 pro models getting costlier.

How much this news is true will be known only when the iPhone 15 Series actually launches, but if this happens, then it would be a huge development because Apple has been pricing the Pro models with a starting price of USD 999 since the launch of iPhone X in 2017. The Pro Max models start at 1099 USD which was the price of the iPhone XS Max launched in 2018. Currency fluctuations have led to Apple changing prices in other countries, but US pricing has remained constant until now.

Apart from hardware upgrades, the average inflation in the US might also be a possible reason for Apple to increase its pricing in the country.  If Apple is planning to increase the price after 6 generations, then there surely would be a valid reason behind that.

Also, it seems like the prices of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus would still remain the same. This time iPhone 15 is said to have the Dynamic Island as well and the enormous notches are finally going away. There will be no ProMotion display on standard models but that works because the display is good in itself. The upcoming iPhone 15 Series is also speculated to be the first to have a USB Type-C port. This is due to unified port laws by European Union.

Apple is scheduled to unveil the iPhone 15 Series in September 2023, so more will be known as September draws closer.
