2025 is about to begin and Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has some really exciting plans up its sleeve to kick off the new year. Apple is planning to launch at least five new products in early 2025 including an iPhone, iPad, and smart home devices. These launches might or might not take place together, but are bound to make their way in Q1 2025. Here’s what you can expect from Apple in the first few months of 2025.
1. iPhone SE 4

Apple is set to introduce the next-generation iPhone SE in the early months of 2025, with a launch anticipated in March. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be the most budget-friendly option within the iPhone range. It will feature the A18 chipset, similar to that of the iPhone 16, along with 8GB of RAM. This new model is rumored to include an OLED display and Face ID technology with a notch design. Additionally, it will sport a 48MP rear camera and will be equipped with Apple’s first custom-designed 5G modem. For charging, the device will support USB-C and is also expected to incorporate Apple Intelligence Support. Reports suggest that its price will be set below $499.

2. M4 MacBook Air

Apple has introduced its initial range of Macs equipped with the M4 chip in 2024. However, the highly anticipated MacBook Air was not part of this release and is now projected to debut in early 2025. According to reports, the M4-powered MacBook Air is set to launch in March 2025, featuring a variety of performance enhancements. In addition to the M4 chipset, it will include 16GB of RAM, a neural engine capable of executing 38 trillion operations per second, and an extended battery life. The device will also be equipped with a 12MP Center Stage camera and an option for a nano-texture display. It will be available in both 13-inch and 15-inch display sizes.

3. iPad 11

Apple refreshed its entire iPad lineup in 2024, introducing new models for the iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Mini. However, the base iPad model did not receive an update this year. This situation is set to change in early 2025, as Apple plans to unveil the iPad 11 vanilla model. The iPad 11 is expected to feature a more powerful A-Series chip, 8GB of RAM, support for Apple Intelligence, and an upgraded WiFi and Bluetooth networking chip. Reports indicate that the iPad 11 will launch with iPadOS 18.3 in early 2025, positioning it as the most budget-friendly option in the lineup.

4. HomePad Smart Display
Apple’s HomePad Smart Display represents a groundbreaking addition to the Apple Smart Home ecosystem, designed to revitalize its offerings. This device will prioritize Siri integration, communication capabilities, and home automation, while also supporting a range of Apple applications such as Music, Notes, and Safari. Featuring a touch interface, it will utilize the latest App intents from Apple Intelligence, and its operating system will blend elements of watchOS and iOS, introducing functionalities like StandBy mode and dynamic user interface transitions. The display will measure approximately the width of two iPhones side by side, featuring a 6-inch screen, built-in speakers, a FaceTime camera, and a battery. Users will enjoy a customizable home screen with Apple widgets and home control options, along with an intercom feature. Additionally, the display will connect with video doorbells and security cameras, providing alerts for enhanced security. Apple is also developing wall mounts and speaker bases for various settings, including desks, tables, and kitchens, to complement this display, which is anticipated to launch in March 2025.

As for the fifth product, various contenders are making the buzz. One out of the following will definitely make its way in Q1 2025.
1. iPad Air M3

Apple updated the iPad Air with the M2 chipset in May 2024, but there are growing rumors that the company intends to transition to the M3 chipset in the first half of 2025. The anticipated launch is expected to occur in May, and currently, there is limited information available regarding the updated model.

2. Apple Watch SE 3

The most recent Apple Watch SE was released in 2022, marking two years since its debut. Apple is expected to announce the Apple Watch SE 3 shortly, likely not wanting to delay until September 2025 for its official introduction. If the Watch SE 3 does not launch by September 2024, the company will probably opt for a March or April 2025 release instead, avoiding a wait until September 2025. The new model is anticipated to feature enhancements compared to its predecessor.

3. Smart Home Devices
Two notable smart home devices currently generating interest are the HomePod Mini 2 and the Apple TV 4K. One of these devices is anticipated to be officially announced in early 2025. The HomePod Mini 2 is set to feature Apple’s latest WiFi and Bluetooth chip, along with support for Apple Intelligence.

The Apple TV 4K is also expected to unveil a new version in 2025, with speculation surrounding its inclusion of Apple Intelligence support, an A18 or A17 Pro chipset designed for Artificial Intelligence, and Apple’s new proprietary WiFi and Bluetooth chip.
