Apple released the fourth version of iOS 18 beta to developer testers on July 23, 2024. While the latest version includes a couple of new features, it still doesn’t include the headline-maker Apple Intelligence unveiled during WWDC 2024. Nonetheless, the beta version will soon be available to public testers. Let’s discuss all the new features added to the iOS 18 beta 4.

iOS 18 Beta 4 Comes With Several Graphical Redesigns

As mentioned earlier, iOS 18 beta 4 includes minor yet important additions that could improve users’ experience. First, let’s start with the few redesigns scattered around the operating system. For instance, the Stock app has a new icon. Similarly, the Hidden Apps folder in the App Library also has a new appearance, as does the iPhone Mirroring notification on the lock screen. The new designs are more in line with the subtle and classy undertone of iOS.

The operating system adds a new window sizing option for the latest iPhone Mirroring feature. It works with macOS Sequoia beta 4, which itself is under development. Another nifty little addition is that users can use light mode with dark mode widgets, a schematic that might appear to iPhone users.

The Flashlight UI Is Now Available On More iPhone Models

Some of the major improvements include expanding the new flashlight UI to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. Earlier, the UI was only available to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro models. A new Controls Menu option in the Camera settings menu lets users preserve the previously used camera tool rather than showing the list of camera tools when expanding the controls menu. Last but not least, the new operating system includes eight new wallpapers for CarPlay, both in dark and light mode.
