TL; DR
  • The Measure app in iOS 26.2 Beta 2 gets the long-awaited Liquid Glass design overhaul.
  • In addition to Name and Recent, users can sort their video game titles in the Games app by Size.
  • Users can now disable pinned messages in the Messages app on CarPlay (the driving companion for iOS users).

The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has seeded iOS 26.2 Beta 2 to developers for experimenting with a handful of new features and additions. Although this won’t be a major upgrade for users, skipping it isn’t a great idea either, as it may also include vital security updates.

Everything That’s New In iOS 26.2 Beta 2

The Measure app in iOS 26.2 Beta 2 gets the long-awaited Liquid Glass design overhaul. Instead of the white circular indicators, you now get translucent bubbles, similar to the bubbles that you see in everything else in the stable builds of iOS 26.

Apple continues to refine its Liquid Glass aesthetics. For instance, the system-wide animations for pop-out menus now use a quicker, bouncier motion, somewhat similar to what the company showcased at the Worldwide Developers Conferences in 2025.

In addition to Name and Recent, users can sort their video game titles in the Games app by Size. I could see this as a new way for users to either find out which title is the heaviest they’ve installed on their iPhone, or, when storage is low, find the heaviest title and uninstall it.

Apart from system-wide animation updates and improvements to the Measure and Game apps, users can now disable pinned messages in the Messages app on CarPlay (the driving companion for iOS users). Previously, CarPlay automatically mirrored pinned messages.

These features are in addition to what Apple announced with iOS 26.1, including a new Liquid Glass slider for Lock Screen clock, refined Sleep Score categories, AI-generated podcast chapters, and offline Apple Music Lyrics. For those wondering, iOS 26.2 will be available as a stable update in December 2025.
