Tech giant Apple has been working hard to announce its mixed reality headset in fall 2023 but this is not the only innovation, Apple has been targeting. The company has also been working on its 1st MacBook with an OLED display and this MacBook is expected to launch in 2024. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the MacBook with OLED display will not launch before the end of 2024. OLED technology would give thinner and lighter MacBook designs and offer diverse form factor design options like folding.

Currently, all existing MacBooks have LCD displays with the latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro featuring mini-LED backlighting and ProMotion. Unlike LCDs with mini-LEDs, OLED displays have self-emitting pixels and don’t need backlighting, which would give MacBooks an even better contrast ratio and longer battery life.

It is not clear if the OLED model will be a Pro or Air MacBook, however, last month Ross Young claimed that Apple is planning to introduce a new 13-inch MacBook Air with an OLED display in 2024. He also said that Apple expects to release new 11.1-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models with OLED displays next year.

More will be known when the brand itself confirms its next range of MacBooks for 2024.
