How About PSVR 2 Support On The Vision Pro?
According to a new report by Bloomberg, Apple is working with the Japanese entertainment giant Sony to include PSVR 2 controller support for the Vision Pro. Although the companies were supposed to roll out the feature recently, an unforeseen delay has occurred.
For those catching up, the PSVR 2, or the PlayStation VR 2, is a headset specially designed for the PlayStation 5. It lets gamers enjoy their favorite PS games on a larger screen (with a more immersive feel). Further, it also eliminates the need to get a high-end PC for VR games.
PSVR 2 For Gaming And Navigation On The Vision Pro: That Sounds Interesting
The report highlights how Sony has been working on the software side of things, ensuring that the PSVR 2 connects and functions seamlessly with the Vision Pro. On the other hand, Apple has asked developers to spend some time coming up with ways to utilize the hardware on the controller.

The partnership between Apple and Sony would mean two things. First, the Apple Vision Pro could use the PSVR 2’s controller support to market itself as a VR headset for gaming. Apple might introduce some new games (which weren’t available previously) with support for the PSVR 2 controller.
Second, it will increase the sales of the PSVR 2 controller, which is beneficial for Sony, as it will generate revenue for the company. However, these aren’t the only outcomes of the collaboration. The report also mentions how the Cupertino giant wants to use the controller for navigation around visionOS, offering precise controls in photo/video editing apps.
Vision Pro Already Supports Third-Party Controllers
For now, the Vision Pro supports third-party controllers via Bluetooth for playing video games that are available on the iPhone or iPad. Users can also run some video games via iOS emulators, but that is the extent of it. This is why we believe Apple could add a few more games to make the PSVR 2 support more appealing to buyers.
Moreover, both companies will benefit from the collaboration. But we still don’t know when the companies will officially announce it.
