Later this year, Cupertino-based tech giant Apple will host one of the most awaited technological events in the world. The September launch event will witness the company unveiling the iPhone 16 lineup, including the regular and Pro models, and along with it, the Apple Watch Series 10 (and possibly a new Apple Watch Ultra).

Most recently, a reliable industry source has tipped about the changes/improvements in the Watch Series 10, indicating that the company is going for larger screens for its 2024 smartwatches.

Apple Watch Series 10 To Get Massive Screens

Apple Watch Series 8 discount

Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared a list of upgrades/improvements for the Apple Watch Series 10. Unlike the Series 9 or the Series 8 (which had a similar design), the purported Series 10 will come with larger screens. He mentions that the two available screen sizes will increase from 41mm and 45mm to 45mm and 49mm.

Although these sizes represent the case height, Apple Watches usually have thinner bezels, implying that the devices will ship with a bigger display. In other words, the smallest model in the Watch Series 10 will have the same form factor as the biggest model in the Watch Series 9. On the other hand, the bigger Watch Series 10 will approach the size of the Watch Ultra.

Apple Watch Ultra To Get A New Titanium Black/Gray Color

With the M4 iPad Pro, Apple has started a trend of premium devices that are thinner and lighter than others in the segment. The Watch Series 10 will follow suit; it could be the company’s thinnest smartwatch to date. However, the company doesn’t seem to be making any efforts to make the Watch Ultra thinner than it currently is.

Regarding the Watch Ultra, Kuo says that the model will “remain roughly the same.” Further, if the manufacturers can meet the yield expectations, Apple might introduce a new case color option, either a black or a dark gray finish. While the analyst didn’t mention it, we think it could be the dark titanium casing that will make its way to the final production and be available later this year.

Kuo provides more information about the assembly line, mentioning that the Apple Watch will include more 3D-printed components starting in 2H24. He also mentions the supplier of such components: BLT. Last year, this company was the equipment supplier, but it upgraded its manufacturing capacity for the Watch Series 10.
