Apple Watch Series 10 Launched with Sleep Apnea Detection: Watch Ultra 2 Refreshed

Apple has hosted the annual iPhone launch event today calling it the ‘Glowtime’ Event. During the event, the company has not only announced the iPhone 16 Series but also the Apple Watch Series 10 the Apple AirPods 4, and a refreshed version of the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The newly launched Watch Series 10 comes with an all-important sleep apnea detection feature this time around.

Apple Watch Series 10 & Watch Ultra 2: Price & Availability

The Apple Watch Series 10 is priced at 399 USD for the GPS model and 499 USD for the GPS+Cellular model. It will be available on September 20th.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 redesigned version is priced at 799 USD for the GPS+ Cellular version. It will be available starting 20th September.

Apple Watch Series 10: Features

Apple Watch Series 10 comes with an edge-to-edge display with thinnest ever design. It comes in two case sizes of 45mm and 49mm, which will be larger than previous generation watches. The watch sports a wide-angle OLED display with better brightness and responsiveness. Under the hood, Watch Series 10 has received a new chipset and comes with various new health sensors like blood pressure monitoring and sleep apnea detection.

Sleep apnea is a disorder that affects some people, causing the stoppage and resumption of breathing while they are asleep, occasionally causing them to wake up from sleep. This problem can lead to fatigue during the day and other health complications like high BP, drop in SpO2 levels, diabetes, and more. Sleep apnea is mostly detected at a sleep disorder center and involves overnight monitoring. Other health features include medication reminders, loud environment detectors, atrial fibrillation, and a sleep changes tracker. The watch helps in translation and is powered by S10 chipset.

This time Apple has also introduced a mechanism that lets the bands attach to the watch face magnetically. This frees up space internally to make way for other components like larger batteries. The Watch Series 10 comes with custom swim workouts and offers up to 18 hours of battery life. The watch is equipped with Apple Intelligence and has a brighter-off angle. The Watch Series 10 runs watchOS 11 and comes with the Tides app and Depth app. The smartwatch is carbon neutral and can measure water temperature. It is the fastest charging watch ever which charges to 80% in 30 minutes.

For the design, the Apple Watch Series 10 comes in new titanium and aluminum finishes. These include natural gold, slate, and grey shades.

Apple Watch Ultra 2: New Color Option

Apple has also announced a new color variant for the existing Watch Ultra 2. The revamped version of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 comes in a satin black color. Updated bands are made of titanium for a lightweight finish. Apple Watch Ultra 2 comes with an all-new Tides App, and speaker playback and is carbon neutral. The watch comes with a sleep apnea detection feature along with offline maps, training load, watchOS 11, and up to 72 hours of battery life in low power mode. Watch Ultra 2 comes with custom skin workouts, titanium Milanese loop, intelligence, accurate GPS, and 3000 nits display brightness. It is the Ultimate Sports Watch.
