Apple Watch Ultra 3 Last Minute Roundup: Everything We Know So Far

Apple is expected to launch the Apple Watch Ultra 3 on September 9, alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 11, and AirPods Pro 3. This matters because the Apple Watch Ultra lineup has not seen a proper refresh in a while. The Ultra 2 from 2024 only brought a black titanium option, and the original Ultra 2 was released back in 2023. Here are all the upgrades coming to the Apple Watch Ultra 3.

Design, display, and performance upgrades

The design is expected to stay true to the Ultra series look, with the rugged titanium case around 49mm and possibly some new color choices beyond natural and black titanium. Display rumors point to a slightly larger OLED panel with brightness that could hit 3,000 Nits. Inside, we’re expecting the S11 chip, which should improve speed and power efficiency while enabling new features from watchOS 12.

Battery life and connectivity

Battery life is rumored to be a major step up. Reports suggest that the Ultra 3 could last multiple days even with heavy use, pushing it closer to watches from Garmin that dominate endurance scenarios. Connectivity upgrades are also on the table, like satellite support for emergency messaging when there is no signal, and possibly 5G for faster syncing and data use.

Health features Apple Watch Ultra

Health tracking could be another focus. Along with existing features such as ECG, blood oxygen monitoring, and workout tracking, the Ultra 3 could gain blood pressure monitoring or even glucose monitoring, features expected to also appear in the Series 11. Rapid charging improvements are still uncertain though.

Expected release date and price

Overall, this is not a complete redesign, but the Apple Watch Ultra 3 could be a decent refresh. Better hardware, stronger battery, life-saving connectivity, and more advanced health features make it a good upgrade. As for the pricing, it should cost $799 in the US or ₹89,990 in India. Official details will be revealed at Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event next week.
