After months of anticipation, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has finally sent out invites for the special “Let Loose” event on May 7, 2024. This will be the company’s second major unveiling after the Vision Pro this year. Without any further ado, let’s dive into the announcement that we expect Apple to make, the most important of which is the new iPads.

Apple “Let Loose” May Event: Where To Watch?

The Apple May event will kick off at 07 30 PM IST on May 7, 2024. It will be streamed live via the company’s official YouTube channel and other social platforms. Further, Apple will post news releases on its official website as the products are released during the event.

The media invite’s graphic consists of an Apple Pencil, making it clear that the event will focus on iPads.

2024 M3 iPad Pro

At the May event, Apple should refresh the iPad Pro lineup with OLED displays and a size bump to 13 inches instead of 12.9 inches for the bigger model. The iPad Pro should also get a big Apple silicon upgrade. We’re expecting the new lineup to feature the M3 chip.

Last but not least, the lineup could feature an upgraded version of Face ID and the front-facing camera, all in landscape placement.

2024 M2 iPad Air

Apple is also expected to unveil a new iPad Air lineup at the May event. Several rumors indicate the arrival of a larger 12.9-inch iPad Air with mini-LED screens. Apart from this, we could see a new processor (perhaps the M2) and a few cosmetic changes here and there, including a new camera bump and fresh colors.

New Accessories

Apart from the new iPads, Apple could also unveil a couple of new accessories. First, we’re expecting a new Apple Pencil, which rightfully succeeds the Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) that came out in 2018.

Then there’s the possibility of a new Magic Keyboard with a more robust aluminum build and a bigger trackpad than the current model. According to a report from Bloomberg, the new Magic Keyboard will “make the iPad Pro look more like a laptop.”

Whether the new keyboard is compatible with both the iPad models or just the high-end iPad Pro models is something we’ll find out soon enough.
