Asus ROG Phone 5S Series Launched: Snapdragon 888+, 144Hz AMOLED panel & 18GB RAM

Asus has reprised the ROG Phone line-up with 5S and 5S Pro in India. The series comprises some of the heavyweight components targeted towards hardcore mobile gamers. Here’s more about the duo.

Asus ROG Phone 5S Series: Specifications

Starting with the display, both the variants arrive with a 6.78” FHD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED standard panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phones offer a lightning-fast 360Hz touch sampling rate plus, a secondary Matrix p-AMOLED panel at the back for GIFs, notifications & more.

Asus ROG Phone 5S series sports an overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ 5G from last year along with up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage and 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Adreno 660 GPU handles all the graphics requirements. On the software front, both the devices house Android 11-based ROG UI on top which makes the phones Android 12 compatible.

About the camera setup, you get a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary cam, a 13MP ultrawide shooter, and a 5MP macro while the front is handled by a 24MP camera.

You do get a whopping 6,000 mAh battery with both ROG Phone 5S and 5S Pro paired alongside 65W fast charging tech that powered the device from 0-100% in 52 minutes. Other specifications that you would find on both the devices include 5G, dual-band GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth v5.2, NFC, a UD optical fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a stereo speaker system.

Talking about the pricing, the following are the variants available –

ROG Phone 5S w/ 8GB+128GB at Rs 49,999/-; 12GB+256GB at Rs 57,999/-

ROG Phone 5S Pro w/ 18GB+512GB at Rs 79,999/-.

Get your hands on the standard variant at Storm White and Phantom Black while the Pro version has Phantom Black as the single color option. Both the devices will go on sale on February 18 at Flipkart exclusively.
