The highly-anticipated ASUS ROG Phone 7 Pro, a top-of-the-line gaming smartphone from the renowned Taiwanese electronics brand, is set to launch globally in just a few short days. According to sources, both the ASUS ROG Phone 7 Pro and its base variant, the ASUS ROG Phone 7, are slated to be released on Thursday, April 13th.

As excitement builds ahead of the launch, tech tipster Evan Blass has leaked official-looking design renders of the smartphone, complete with an attached ‘Active Aero’ external cooling module. The renders provide a comprehensive sneak peek into the smartphone’s expected features and specifications.

When it comes to design, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 Pro doesn’t deviate much from its predecessors. In fact, the smartphone has a strikingly similar appearance to the ROG Phone 6 Pro and earlier models. With almost identical dimensions to its predecessors, the new ROG Phone boasts a front camera situated in the top-left corner of the display.

The sides of the smartphone have slim bezels, while the top bezels are slightly larger to make room for powerful stereo speakers. While the design may not be revolutionary, the smartphone’s impressive features and capabilities are what set it apart from the rest.

On the back, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 Pro seems to feature a triple rear camera setup, with the branding details revealing support for 8K video recording. In addition, there is a secondary cosmetic display to the rear, which can be configured within ASUS’ custom ROG UI Android 13 interface.

The phone’s aero cooling module, identical to that of the previous generation gaming phone, is intended to cool the smartphone during prolonged esports sessions, as this generates the most heat. The module has RGB LED lighting on the back and will activate and begin cooling the device when necessary.

The ASUS ROG Phone 7 Pro is anticipated to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, clocked at 3.19GHz, and up to 16GB memory. It may also have a 6.78-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a 720Hz touch sampling rate, identical to its predecessor. Furthermore, it may come with a Sony IMX766 50MP primary image sensor on the main rear camera, along with a 13MP ultra-wide unit and a 5MP macro unit.
