Electronic Arts is opening Battlefield 6 to the public this month through a two-part open beta test ahead of the game’s official release on October 10. The beta will run across two weekends i.e., August 9–10 and August 14–17, and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

While the game promises a more grounded, tactical experience than its predecessor, Battlefield 2042, the open beta is more than just a demo. EA is using the test period to gather technical feedback, test multiplayer infrastructure at scale, and distribute early-access rewards that will carry into the full game.

But there’s a catch. PC players will need to meet not just performance benchmarks but also security requirements like TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to even launch the beta.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta Dates

  • Weekend 1: August 9–10
  • Weekend 2: August 14–17

Minimum and Recommended PC Specs for Battlefield 6 Beta

The good news? You don’t need a bleeding-edge gaming rig to jump in.

Minimum and Recommended PC Specs for Battlefield 6

Unlike some next-gen titles, Battlefield 6 doesn’t demand a brand-new PC. But it does expect modern software and hardware configurations, including support for virtualization-based security and kernel-level anti-cheat.

Minimum (for 1080p @ 30FPS, Low Settings):

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT / Intel Arc A380 (6GB VRAM)
  • RAM: 16GB (2133 MHz, dual-channel)
  • OS: Windows 10, DirectX 12
  • Storage: 75GB HDD
  • Security Requirements:
    • TPM 2.0
    • UEFI Secure Boot enabled
    • HVCI and VBS capable

Recommended (for 1440p @ 60FPS, High Settings):

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-10700 / AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT / Intel Arc B580 (8GB VRAM)
  • RAM: 16GB (3200 MHz, dual-channel)
  • Storage: 75GB SSD
  • Same security requirements as above

These requirements reflect Battlefield 6‘s use of kernel-level anti-cheat, which relies on deep system access to detect cheating software. It also means older systems lacking Secure Boot or TPM support may not be able to run the game even if they meet performance specs.

Battlefield 6 Beta Rewards: What You Get for Playing Early

EA is incentivizing early participation with exclusive unlocks split across the two beta weekends. These rewards, according to the official infographic, will be usable once the game launches in full this October.

Weekend 1 Rewards (August 9–10):

  • Seeker Soldier Skin
  • All-Terrain Soldier Skin
  • Domination Weapon Package
  • “Lights Out” Player Card Background
  • Weapon Charms

Weekend 2 Rewards (August 14–17):

  • War Machine Vehicle Skin
  • “Bat Company” Dog Tag
  • Striking Distance Weapon Package

To unlock all available rewards, players will need to participate in both beta weekends. EA hasn’t yet confirmed if these items are gated behind level progression or specific in-game objectives.

Why Battlefield 6 Beta Matters for EA

Battlefield 6 is arriving nearly four years after Battlefield 2042, a game that faced heavy criticism for its bugs, live service design, and absence of campaign content. EA appears to be repositioning the franchise with a return to more grounded military combat and community-driven development.

The beta isn’t just a test, it’s a trust reset. Its hardware requirements aren’t brutal, but the strict security prerequisites may block entry for some PC players.

And with the franchise’s reputation on the line, EA is betting that a transparent rollout and a technically solid beta experience can win back longtime fans.
