Upcoming bikes and electric two-wheelers in December 2021

If you are planning to bring home a bike or gift it to someone in the new year or later in 2022, you can give yourself time waiting for some decent two-wheelers to launch. While it’s the time when the Indian automobile industry goes easy in announcing new models yet there is a handful of bikes to arrive. Not limited to the conventional petrol motorcycles but the new-gen electric bikes are also in the queue to cater the market demand. We have here listed upcoming two-wheelers including motorcycles, electric scooters, and e-bikes. Let’s have a look at them.

Hero Electric AE-75 electric scooter

Hero has already showcased the Hero Electric AE-75 at the Auto Expo 2020. However, the company has managed to hide the underlying features of the AE-75 electric scooter while telling a few things. Hero Electric promises the AE-75 to gain a maximum speed of 55kmph with a mileage of 80km on a single charge. Hero Electric AE-75 is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 80,000 in India.

Honda PCX Electric scooter 

Honda PCX Electric scooter will come driven by a Honda Mobile Power Pack battery system in India. It will include a 20.8Ah battery taking up to 4 hours to get fully charged. It comes offering a mediocre range of 41km. It can produce 18Nm of torque while driven by a 4.2kW permanent magnet motor. The Honda PCX Electric scooter is expected to arrive in February 2022.

Orxa Mantis electric motorcycle

Coming from a Bengaluru-based startup, Orxa Mantis seems something to bet upon if you are waiting for a powerful electric motorcycle. The Mantis electric bike is claimed to offer a 200km of range per charge. It sports a 9kWh Li-ion modular battery that can be easily swapped. The battery can be charged in about 3.5 hours via a 15A socket. The motor in the electric bike delivers a peak power of 25kW. The streetfighter design of the Orxa Mantis is surely a thing. The company has not yet revealed the price but the Mantis is expected to be priced between Rs 3-4 lakh.

Ultraviolette F77 electric bike

Ultraviolette F77 is another high-end electric bike gearing to hit the Indian roads in the first quarter of 2022. The bike is claimed to offer a distance range of 150km with a top speed of 140kmph. It comes equipped with a 25kW electric motor producing a 90Nm peak torque. The manufacturer promises to gain from zero to 60kmph of speed in just 2.9 seconds. The Ultraviolette F77 can be priced between Rs 3.0 lakh and Rs 3.50 lakh.

Harley Davidson Sportster S Motorcycle

Despite the aforementioned electric bikes, the upcoming entrant from Harley Davidson is eagerly awaited by two-wheeler buffs in the petrol segment. The manufacturer is all set to launch the Sportster S bike during India Bike Week scheduled to be held on 4 and 5 December. It comes with the all-new Revolution Max 1250T powertrain to offer maximum torque and better rider control. The estimated price of this new beast from Harley Davidson is around Rs 15 Lakh. Pretty high, right?

Yezdi Motorcycles Adventure Bike

The Yezdi Motorcycles Adventure is aimed to add more excitement to the people taking frequent road trips to the mountains or city outskirts, of course. While there is no official arrival date for the Yezdi’s ADV, the bike is expected to sport a 334cc single-cylinder motor similar to the Jawa Perak. The Yezdi Roadking ADV is said to hit the road in the next couple of weeks tagged at an ex-showroom price of around Rs 2 Lakh.
