India’s EV landscape is rapidly transforming with back-to-back launches across budgets, segments, and brands. Among the massive influx of new EVs in the market, India has also seen a surge in long-range EV models available for purchase. BYD Atto 3

The BYD Atto 3 is a compact electric SUV which is being imported from China as a CBU. It was launched in India back in mid-2024 and is available in three trims—Dynamic (49.9 kWh), Premium (60.5 kWh) and Superior (60.5 kWh).
The Dynamic trim of the BYD Atto 3 delivers an ARAI-certified range of 468 km, while the larger battery versions offer 521 km. Powering the Atto 3 is a 204 PS (150 kW) motor, capable of DC fast charging at 70–80 kW, which takes roughly 30 minutes to charge from 20 to 80%. Noteworthy features include a 12.8″ rotating touchscreen, bird’s-eye ADAS suite, seven airbags, wireless phone charging, and V2L support.
The Premium and Superior trims further include enhanced LED lighting, premium upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof. Built on BYD’s global e-platform 3.0, the Atto 3 stands out with its performance and tech.
Mahindra BE6

Launched earlier this year, the Mahindra BE6 is a rear-wheel‑drive compact crossover SUV built on Mahindra’s latest INGLO platform and comes equipped with BYD-sourced LFP (Blade) batteries.
The Mahindra BE6 is available in five variants—Pack One to Pack Three—priced ₹18.90 L to ₹26.90 L. The base 59 kWh variants (Pack One to Pack Three Select) provide an ARAI-certified range of 556 km with 231 hp and 380 Nm output, while the top-end 79 kWh Pack Three delivers 682 km and 286 hp.
Charging includes AC charging (7.2/11.2 kW) and rapid DC charging (up to 180 kW for 20–80% in ~20 minutes). In terms of features, the Mahindra BE6 features dual 12.3-inch screens, 5G connected MAIA OS, panoramic sunroof, frunk, one-touch single-pedal drive and multi-step regen, with safety delivered through 6–7 airbags, all-disc brakes, and driver drowsiness detection.
Level-2 ADAS in the Mahindra BE6 begins at Pack Two and includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and auto‑parking. Higher trims add a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, heads-up display, ambient lighting and multi-tone LED roof lighting. The Mahindra BE6 also holds a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating across trims.
Mahindra XEV 9e

Launched alongside its smaller sibling earlier this year, the XEV 9e is Mahindra’s move into premium coupe‑SUV territory. The XEV 9e shares the INGLO chassis and Blade battery tech with BE6 and is priced between ₹21.90 lakh and ₹30.50 lakh across four trims.
Powered by a rear-mounted motor, the 59 kWh battery variant offers a MIDC-certified range of 542 km with 231 PS, while the 79 kWh variant delivers 656 km with 286 PS of power. Charging supports AC at 7.2/11.2 kW and DC fast charge up to 175 kW.
Features on the XEV 9e include a coupe-like sloping roofline, 19-inch wheels, and a panoramic glass roof. The cabin is spacious with a 663‑litre boot, twin 12.3-inch displays, Level‑2 ADAS, LED lighting, wireless charging, leatherette interiors, and a fast-charging frunk.
BYD Seal

The BYD Seal, a sleek midsize electric sports sedan also being imported directly from China, is aimed at the premium segment in India. The BYD Seal is priced at ₹41 lakh – ₹53.2 lakh (ex-showroom). The BYD Seal, like the new Mahindra EVs, is also powered by Blade LFP battery technology with a 82.56kWh battery, delivering an ARAI-estimated range of approximately 580 km on a single charge.
Other features include powerful electromotors and fast-charging capability of up to 180kWh. Apart from this, the BYD Seal also comes with other features such as ADAS, a heads-up display, a rotating infotainment display, ventilated seats, and much more.

BYD Sealion 7

Following the positive response that the Seal sedan received in Indian market, BYD has introduced the BYD Sealion 7 SUV, which is priced between ₹48.9 lakh – ₹54.9 lakh (ex-showroom).
The BYD Sealion 7 is based on the e‑Platform 3.0 which comes with an 82.5kWh battery that powers the dual motors, promising a range of about 567 km. The two electric motors on the BYD Sealion 7 sends power to all four wheels creating 523 bhp of power and 690 Nm of torque.
Other features on the BYD Sealion 7 include premium interior materials, advanced driver assistance suites, a 15.6-inch infotainment display, electric and ventilated seats, cruise control, and more. In India, the BYD Sealion 7 has been launched in two trims – performance and premium, where the performance model is faster and the premium model offers longer range.
Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5, based on an 800‑V global platform, was launched in India back in 2023 as one of the first premium EVs to make it to the Indian market. The iONIQ 5 was the second EV from the Korean carmaker in India after the launch of the Kona electric. In India, the iONIQ 5 has been launched in a single variant with a 72.6kWh battery that promises a range of up to 631 kilometers.

Tata Curvv

The Tata Curvv EV, launched in the second half of last year, slots into the compact coupe‑SUV class with ex-showroom prices from ₹17.49 lakh to ₹22.24 lakh across five variants, including the Dark Edition.

The latest and probably the most hyped EV from Tata till date, the Tata Harrier EV was launched earlier this month with a starting price of ₹21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Harrier EV also brings an all-wheel drive variant, giving fans across the country an AWD variant of the Harrier, something the community has been asking for in the new Tata Harrier and Safari SUVs.
The Harrier EV claims to have a range of up to 627 kilometers on a single charge and generates 390 BHP of power along with 504 Nm of torque, propelling the Tata Harrier EV from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds!
