If you have searched for BGMI on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you would be surprised that it is no longer available on these marketplaces. It is because the government has reportedly banned the game in India. Although there’s no official statement available from the Government of India on why it happened, it is likely due to its close ties with PUBG Mobile which was banned last year.[हिंदी में पढ़ें]

BGMI banned in India following a government order

Rajeev Chandrashekhar – Union Minister, submitted a written report to the Rajya Sabha about existing banned apps and how developers are using similar names to put apps in the marketplaces. As one would say, BGMI is an Indian version of the popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile which is probably why it was taken off the marketplace.

BGMI maker Krafton pointed out that the game has been removed from the Google Play Store. A response from Google stated that the game was removed following “on receipt of the order”. Google reported that it followed an established process to remove the game from the Play Store and has affected the developer (Krafton) that they have blocked the app in India.

Just recently, there have been reports on how a 16-year-old boy killed his mother after she tried stopping him from playing the game. The matter has received quite a lot of responses online.

BGMI has been banned in India following order from the government

If you want to know what happens next, BGMI is not available on both the App Store and Google Play Store. It won’t be possible for a while unless the order is reversed. After PUBG Mobile was banned in India, the makers tweaked the game to tame it a bit and re-launched it as BGMI in India. However, now that BGMI is gone off the marketplace, you won’t be able to download it. Those who already have the game installed on their devices can enjoy playing the game although it remains to be seen if it stops functioning, something similar to the fate that PUBG Mobile suffered.

PUBG New State is an enhanced battle royale game available on the Play Store/App Store developed by Krafton that you can download and play with ease. The minimum requirements are Android v6.0 with 4GB plus RAM on Android while iPhone users require iOS 13 and above.
