Nothing CEO Carl Pei held an online event on Wednesday to announce that his company will be Nothing Phone 1 smartphone this summer. The Nothing Phone (1) will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. This might be the same phone that Nothing CEO and Qualcomm Ceo were spotted looking at CES 2022.
The Nothing Phone 1 specs are still a mystery. Though, Nothing CEO shade slight light on the Nothing OS which is based on Android.
What’s special about Nothing OS?
The Nothing OS claims to be “built on an open and seamless ecosystem that will effortlessly connect and integrate Nothing products and products from other world-leading brands.”
It will offer the best of pure Android, with custom fonts, colours, graphical elements and sounds.
Teasers of the Nothing OS showcased seems that the upcoming OS will be based on Android 12. Nothing has also promised three years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates for the device.
The company will be rolling out Nothing launcher for select phones from April.
Carl Pei also spoke about Nothing community Fundraiser’s where the company has allocated USD 10 million for upcoming equity-based community investment round at the same valuation as its Series B fundraiser.
Nothing held its first community fundraiser round back in March 2021 where it raised USD 1.5M in a record-beating 54 seconds. For all those who are interested in investing in Nothing, pre-registrations are open on the Nothing website right away.
