TL; DR
- Nothing will focus on the Phone 4a series in 2026 instead of launching a new flagship.
- Carl Pei says the 4a lineup will move closer to a “flagship experience” in design, materials, display, and camera.
- Leaks suggest Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, 5,080 mAh battery, 50W charging, and IP65 rating for the Phone 4a.
With no flagship phone planned for 2026, Nothing’s smartphone roadmap centers on the Phone 4a series. Carl Pei confirmed this during the interview, calling the A-series the company’s best-selling lineup and saying Nothing is “really excited about taking this even closer to what a flagship experience is going to be.”
Pei described the Phone 4a series (Phone 4a and 4a Pro) as “a complete evolution over its predecessor,” spanning display, camera, performance, materials, and overall design. He added that Nothing will continue its gradual design evolution, staying “distinctively Nothing” while introducing new experimentation in colors and finishes.
Design, according to Pei, has always been about longevity. He said that when people first see new Nothing designs, reactions are often mixed, but “it kind of grows on people.” He also noted that even the company’s earliest products “still look kind of fresh” years later, which is the direction Nothing wants to maintain.

Nothing Phone 4a Expected Specifications

While Pei hasn’t shared any specs with us (except UFS 3.1), certification listings for the Phone 4a point to model number A069, with expected specifications including a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a 5,080 mAh battery, 50W wired charging, IP65 rating, and a 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage option. Battery health is rated at up to 1,400 charge cycles. Color options are said to include Pink, White, Black, and Blue.
Nothing Phone 4a Series Will Be More Expensive

Beyond hardware, Pei also addressed other topics. Like, the company has moved into what Pei calls “Phase 2,” focusing on maturing the brand. Nothing is expanding its physical retail presence, with a major India store opening in Bengaluru on February 14, and additional stores planned for Tokyo and the US. The London headquarters is also moving into a new design-focused space previously used by Heatherwick Studio.
Pei also addressed rising component costs, especially RAM pricing driven by AI demand. He confirmed that price increases across Nothing’s smartphone lineup are likely. According to him, this industry-wide pressure will hit value-focused brands hardest, while other companies may find it easier to adapt.
Taken together, 2026 looks less like a launch-heavy year for Nothing. No new flagship, heavier emphasis on the Phone 4a series, continued software development for Nothing Phone 3 (review), and a broader push on brand and offline stores.
