The French consumer electronics company Withings has come up with something interesting before CES 2025. Known for making several health-monitoring devices, Withings has unveiled a smart mirror concept capable of scanning the user’s body and providing several vital insights. The device (or mirror) is called Omnia, and it provides data related to users’ weight and heart health.

Withings Omnia Combines Several Health Tech Devices Into One

Withings Omnia Combines Several Health Tech Devices Into One

Withings Omnia surely isn’t one of the products that we see every day. For starters, it consists of a full-sized mirror equipped with a plethora of sensors, speakers, and a hidden screen behind the mirror. Combined, the sensors on the device let users conduct a full-body scan, which includes details like weight, heart health, lung health, sleep, activity, and nutrition.

Although the device isn’t capable of measuring all the metrics mentioned above, it can pull in the required data from other connected devices, such as smart rings, smartwatches, blood pressure monitors, etc (acting like a health hub). Besides, Omnia has an AI voice assistant that could probably interact with the users and give them real-time guidance on the data collected.

Users Can Interact With The Smart Mirror Via Voice Or Touchscreen

Users Can Interact With The Smart Mirror Via Voice Or Touchscreen

While users should be able to interact with the device via their voice, the mirror itself features some sort of a touch-enabled screen. The most commendable thing about Withings Omnia, a concept at the moment, is that it tries to bring the best of different tech products, like a smart mirror (with an in-built screen), speakers, microphones, smart scales that can measure body composition (along with heart rate), and AI chatbots that process all the data and shares it in the form of actionable insights.

However, readers should remember that Omnia isn’t up for sale; it is just a concept at the moment. The company says that the product is “currently in development.” Further, there’s no launch timeline for it.

We’re Curious To Know Withings Omnia’s Retail Price (If It Ever Goes To That Stage)

We can see how Withings Omnia can benefit a certain strata of customers who require full body scans on a daily basis. Monitoring metrics like ECG, heart sounds, blood pressure, and activity can help users achieve their fitness goals. However, we are concerned about the practical implementations of the concept becoming an actual product.

Given that Omnia packages so much tech into one device, a steep price tag is sort of given. But even so, the idea behind Omnia, a product that reminds users about their fitness goals on a daily basis, is one that is worth some praise.
