Nothing launched the affordable Phone (2a) in March 2024 that aimed to offer a decent Nothing experience at the lowest prices. Now, CMF which is Nothing’s sub-brand is all set to launch its first smartphone. While earlier reports claimed that CMF Phone (1) might be a rebrand of Nothing Phone (2a), new leaks indicate that it won’t be the case as CMF Phone 1 will come with some unique features. Some key specs and concept renders of CMF Phone 1 have surfaced online which give us a hint about what the budget smartphone might entail.

An X user @GadgetBits has shared the chipset and some other details of the CMF Phone (1) smartphone. The user claims that CMF Phone (1) will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC instead of the earlier reported Dimensity 7200 chipset in Phone (2a). Dimensity 7300 is the successor to the Dimensity 7050 chipset. The new SoC is an octa-core chipset with four ARM Cortex A78 cores running at up to 2.5GHz and four ARM Cortex A55 cores. Built on a 4nm process it offers a 25% decrease in power consumption compared to Dimensity 7050 SoC.
The tipster also mentions that the CMF phone will have a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and pack a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The base model is tipped to feature 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB storage as the base model. It will run Nothing OS-based Android 14 and might support NFC too. The leakster claims that CMF Phone (1) won’t have Nothing’s glyph interface LED lights, which is mostly the highlight of Nothing’s phones.
However, keep in mind that the user doesn’t have a proven track record of accurate leaks and the source is completely unverified.

CMF Phone (1): Concept Renders

Another X User, Rahul Janardhanan has shared a concept render of CMF Phone (1) in a solid orange color. He claims to have made this render based on the details available. The phone can be seen without a glyph interface and with a dual-camera setup at the back with a flash on the rear. The back panel can be seen with circles and dots in the center. The power and volume buttons are on the right and left edges of the phone.
CMF Phone (1): Expected price
CMF Phone (1) is tipped to be priced between Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 20,000 in the country. It is said to arrive in Blue, Black, Green, and Orange for Indian consumers.
