TL; DR
  • CMF Phone 2 teaser shows an orange-colored single-camera setup, unlike Phone 1’s dual-camera system.
  • Expected to retain modular design, 6.67-inch AMOLED, 120 Hz, and a 5,000 mAh battery.
  • Launch in April with Watch Pro 3, Buds Pro 3, and Neckband Pro 2.

CMF by Nothing has just shared a teaser for the CMF Phone 2 on Twitter via @cmfbynothing, showcasing a close-up of its camera module in a striking orange hue. This follows the company’s earlier Pokémon-themed teasers on March 28, which hinted at four new products, including the Phone 2, Watch Pro 3, Buds Pro 3, and Neckband Pro 2.

Single Camera or Something Else?

CMF Phone 2

The teaser image highlights a single-camera setup, a departure from the CMF Phone 1’s dual-camera system (50MP main and 2MP depth sensor). The new module features one lens in a vertical arrangement, with a flash positioned just below it.

This is integrated into a design that resembles the internal layout of a smartphone—complete with circuit-like patterns. Another alleged CMF Phone 2 leak suggested that the device features a triple camera setup, but we’re not sure of its accuracy.

The tagline “In search of the perfect shot” hints that the CMF Phone 2 is camera-centric. Nothing has been emphasizing photography this year, as seen with the Phone 3a series. This suggests either a triple-camera setup or a unique single-camera approach—maybe a large sensor, or something else. Details are still unclear, but CMF is definitely making photography the selling point.

CMF Phone 2 Design and Expected Features

The orange color scheme in the teaser aligns with CMF’s bold aesthetic, seen in the Phone 1’s Orange variant launched in July 2024. The CMF Phone 2 is expected to retain the modular design of its predecessor, allowing users to swap back panels, but with a look that’s similar to the Nothing phones.

It’s likely to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, matching the Phone 1’s specs, and could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 or some other chip in the same segment. The battery is expected to remain at 5,000 mAh with 33W charging.

CMF Phone 2 Launch Date

CMF Phone 2

CMF by Nothing’s April launch will likely include the Watch Pro 3, Buds Pro 3, and Neckband Pro 2, as teased earlier. The Phone 2’s camera teaser signals CMF’s intent to compete more aggressively in the budget 5G market, where photography is increasingly a deciding factor. More details are expected as the launch date approaches.
