While most specifications of the Galaxy S24 series have already leaked, the company has managed to create some mystery around the Exynos and Snapdragon variants. According to recent reports, the Galaxy S24 Ultra should feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Soc. However, which of the other two phones would run on the Exynos 2400 SoC wasn’t clear.

Galaxy S24 Plus Could Stick With Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For India

iQoo 12 to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

On January 4, 2023, tipster Tarun Vats posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the Galaxy S24 Plus will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in India. However, he writes that the chipset is “almost confirmed” for the Plus series in the country, which means there is still a chance that the S24 Plus could ship with the Exynos 2400 SoC. Nonetheless, this rumor corroborates some reports from the recent past.

It will make sense for the company to equip the Galaxy S24 Plus with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, as it would encourage more people to get their hands on this model. On the other hand, the regular Galaxy S24 could come with Samsung’s in-house processor, the Exynos 2400 SoC, in the Asian market, including India. In a related development, the benchmark scores of both the Snapdragon and the Exynos variants of the Galaxy S24 series have surfaced online.

Even So, The Galaxy S24 Plus With Exynos 2400 SoC Scores Well On Geekbench

The Galaxy S24 Plus, with the Exynos 2400 SoC and 12GB of RAM, scored 2,193 points in the single-core and 6,895 points in the multi-score Geekbench test. Surprisingly, these scores are very close to the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and 12GB of RAM scores on the same benchmark test. The phone gets 2,297 points in the single-core and 7,104 points in the multi-core test. Hence, even though the Exynos variant doesn’t beat Snapdragon, it comes pretty close.

Here What This Means For Customers

  • Now, the benchmark scores indicate multiple things. First, it’s a positive sign for the Exynos 2400 SoC that it is catching up with the Snapdragon counterpart.
  • Second, it reveals that Samsung has made a Galaxy S24 model with the Exynos chipset.
  • However, this also indicates that the Exynos model of the regular Galaxy S24 with 8GB of RAM could fall behind the S24 Plus with 12GB of RAM.

While it’s great to see that the Exynos 2400 SoC could turn out to be almost as good as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the real-life performance of these smartphones will matter the most. Users must wait until January 17, 2024, for more details about the upcoming flagships.
