- Nothing Phone (3) launched in July 2025 at around ₹80,000 but dropped to ₹34,999 during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days (BBD) sale in September.

- User backlash on X highlights anger at Nothing and Flipkart, with complaints of “backstabbing” loyal customers and demands for pricing transparency.
UPDATE: As of October 1, 2025 4:52 PM, the price has now reverted to the usual ₹79,999 on Flipkart.
Nothing launched the Phone (3) on July 1, 2025, at around ₹80,000. Just three months later, during Flipkart’s BBD sale starting September 23, the device was available for as low as ₹34,999 with exchange and legacy coupons for Phone (1) and (2) users.
Now, regular sale prices listed the 12GB + 256GB variant at ₹39,999 and the 16GB + 512GB at ₹49,999, with additional bank discounts cutting prices further.
The steep 56% reduction has attracted bargain buyers but left early buyers and also the Phone (1) and (2) legacy buyers feeling cheated. Many who bought the phone at launch or at the start of the sale now report losing thousands within days.

User Backlash on X
X has been flooded with complaints. One buyer, @TeslaSpaceAI, said: “You backstabbed early Phone (1)/(2) users. I exchanged my Phone (1) & paid 36K for Phone 3 just a week ago, now it’s 39K. Lost 6K in 6 days + my Phone (1).”

Others echoed similar frustrations. @TechFunWithSaji regretted paying ₹45K during early offers, only to see the price fall further before even receiving the phone. He stressed the value of the phone has gone down by ₹8K, even before it reached him.
Another frustrated user @kareemu0 called the situation a “scammy gimmick” after seeing another ₹5K price drop shortly after purchase. Another buyer, @deepakrawat8951, highlighted inconsistencies in exchange values, claiming Flipkart reduced their Nothing Phone (2) value from ₹18,800 to ₹14,600 at delivery.
Silence from Nothing and Flipkart

As of October 1, 2025, neither Nothing nor Flipkart has publicly addressed the complaints. While the pricing strategy makes the Phone (3) a competitive mid-range option, it raises questions about transparency in festive season sales.
We are not sure why Nothing cut the price of its flagship so drastically during the BBD sale. It remains unclear whether the massive drop was a limited-time deal, a pricing error, or part of a marketing strategy.
Early adopters continue voicing anger on social platforms and support channels, with some even threatening legal action. However, such cases rarely succeed unless misleading practices are proven. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments.
