OPPO’s Reno series has always been a fan favorite for its sleek designs and portrait-centric cameras. Following the launch of the Reno 16 in July 2026, we now have exclusive details about its successor. According to information shared with us by trusted industry insider Yogesh Brar, the brand is preparing to introduce the OPPO Reno 17, with no Reno 17 Pro in the lineup.
The upcoming smartphone is also expected to borrow several specifications and design elements from its predecessor, the Reno 16, suggesting that the upgrade could be relatively modest.

OPPO Reno 17 expected specifications
If you were expecting a massive hardware overhaul, you might want to adjust your expectations. Brar tells us that the Reno 17 will heavily borrow core elements from the current Reno 16.
The phone is tipped to retain the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset found in the Reno 16. It is also expected to feature the same triple 50MP rear camera setup, which includes wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto cameras.
However, the phone could ship with ColorOS 17 (review) out of the box, bringing the latest software experience to the next-generation Reno smartphone. Battery capacity is another area where the Reno 17 could see a small upgrade. While the Reno 16 packs a 6,700mAh battery, the upcoming model is tipped to feature a battery with a capacity exceeding 7,000mAh.
Our source also provided us with a photo of the upcoming device. Visually, the Reno 17 looks exactly like the Reno 16, featuring only minor cosmetic changes to the chassis to keep the design fresh.
