PS 5 DualSense Controller Vs DualShock 4 Controller

The PS5 DualSense controller is an improvement over the DualShock 4 controller of the PlayStation 4. The new controller is Sony’s biggest design update since the launch of the original PlayStation 25-years ago. The DualSense controller comes with a two-tone body.

“We went through several concepts and hundreds of mockups over the last few years before we settled on this final design,” said Hideaki Nishino, senior vice president of platform planning and management, in the blog post.

The DualShock 4’s light bar has been repositioned to either side of the touchpad. The buttons on the controller together form the shape of the PS logo. The triggers are also more slanted.

“We also incorporated adaptive triggers into the L2 and R2 buttons of DualSense so you can truly feel the tension of your actions, like when drawing a bow to shoot an arrow,” Nishino said.

The DualSense controllers get USB-C charging, and there’s a built-in mic so that players communicate with other gamers without need to plug in a headset.

Sony has ditched the Share button on the DualSense controller for a “Create” button. Its functionality is yet to be unveiled. The company says it will reveal more about the “Create” button soon.
