At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in Delhi, Tata has officially revealed the production-ready iteration of its forthcoming SUV, the Tata Curvv. Following the initial showcase of the Curvv concept last year, the Indian automaker has been actively conducting tests, with numerous camouflaged prototypes spotted in various online videos. Today, the curtain has been lifted on an almost finalized version of the Tata Curvv, providing a glimpse of the SUV’s exterior design.

Tata Curvv SUV Launched

Bunny Punia, through his YouTube channel, has shared a video offering a preview of the Tata Curvv SUV in its nearly finalized production form. The video delves into the SUV’s design, echoing the distinctive coupe-like rear that initially garnered attention when Tata unveiled the Curvv concept.

Noteworthy is the continuity of this unique styling feature in the production version. Examining the front fascia showcased in the video, similarities with the recently launched Tata Harrier and Safari are evident. The connecting LED bar and dual-function LED DRLs on either end, coupled with a gloss black front grille featuring lower vents and a silver foil finish, contribute to the Curvv’s captivating aesthetics.

Tata Curvv Design And Features

The Tata Curvv showcases distinctive features in its exterior design, as highlighted in Bunny Punia’s YouTube video. Positioned on the bumper are headlamps, accompanied by a lower air dam featuring a silver foil finish. The front exudes a rugged appeal with a faux skid plate, complemented by gloss black elements surrounding the wheel arch and side running board.

Anticipated to offer advanced features, the Curvv might include a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, and possibly ADAS, aligning with the technological offerings of the Harrier and Safari models. On the side profile, the video unveils the SUV’s defining elements, including a coupe-like sloping roof and flush-fitting door handles equipped with request sensors. The 18-inch alloy wheels stand out with a unique design, differing from any seen on previous Tata models. This attention to detail positions the Tata Curvv as a promising addition to the brand’s lineup.

Moving to the rear of the Tata Curvv, the design takes on a more refined and sophisticated appearance. A connected light bar runs across the rear, seamlessly meeting the sleek boomerang-shaped LED tail lamps. Reflectors and reverse lamps are strategically placed on the bumper, a design feature reminiscent of the Nexon. The rear is adorned with a Curvv badge on the tailgate, while a shark fin antenna, roof-mounted spoiler, and a panoramic sunroof add to the SUV’s overall allure.

Although the interior details are not clearly visible in the video, glimpses reveal Tata’s new floating-type infotainment system on the dashboard, complemented by brown-colored leather upholstery. In terms of dimensions, the Tata Curvv measures 4,308 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,630 mm in height. With a wheelbase of 2,560 mm, the SUV offers a spacious interior, and the boot space is reported to be a generous 422 liters.

Powertrain

The showcased production-ready version of the Curvv in the video is specifically the diesel variant. Tata’s strategy involves introducing the electric version of the Curvv into the market first, with the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant following subsequently. The diesel variant featured in the video is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged, 4-cylinder engine, delivering a power output of 115 PS and a peak torque of 260 Nm. This diesel variant will come paired with a manual gearbox, catering to diverse preferences in the SUV market.
