Epic Games has made its place in the gaming industry as one of the most popular gaming studios. In a recent development, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney dropped a hint regarding the return of Fortnite for iOS in 2023. Previously, the game was removed from the iOS app store due to the v violation of guidelines. In a tweet related to Fortnite, Sweeney wrote that the game would reach ‘Next year on iOS’. The tweet was followed by a picture of a Fortnite character looking up toward fireworks that spell out 2023.

The game got removed from the Apple App store because it included a direct payment option in Fortnite that violated Apple’s in-app purchasing system. Due to the same reason, Fortnite was removed from the Apple App Store in August 2020. The blame for the banning of Fortnite was directed completely toward Epic Games by Apple. The official statement released by Apple said that Epic Games took the unfortunate step of violating the App Store guidelines that are applicable to all developers to keep users safe.

Following the incident, Epic Games filed a lawsuit against Apple, and in September 2012, it resulted in a court decision that required Apple to let developers to add in-app links to outside websites.

Until now, the exact launch timeline of Fortnite for iOS has not been confirmed. However, we can expect to see the game on the Apple App Store by the first half of 2023.

In another piece of news, US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) said that it had reached $520 million with epic games over allegations that the company violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and deployed design tricks, also known as dark patterns, to lure millions of players into making unintentional purchases.
