Funtouch OS 15 is Official: Check Features and Device Eligibility (vivo and iQOO)

Funtouch OS 15 has officially been released, making vivo the first OEM to roll out stable Android 15. The stable update is already live on the vivo X100 Pro and vivo X Fold3 Pro in multiple regions, including India and Indonesia. The broader rollout will start in mid-October 2024, beginning with a beta phase and continuing through mid-2025.

Funtouch OS 15 Features

This version, which vivo’s calling Funtouch OS 15, brings several key features as well as improvements. One of the highlights is the AI Image Lab, which will allow users to erase objects from images and upscale them from the Gallery app itself.

S-Capture is another new feature, allowing users to mark text while screen recording. It also lets you toggle the microphone on and off during recordings. Yes, finally.

In gaming, Ultra Game Mode now allows users to open apps directly in pop-up windows from the game mode sidebar. This wasn’t previously possible with Funtouch OS 14 without a workaround.

On the aesthetic side, Funtouch OS 15 introduces new icons and large folders in the system themes. The Immersive Wallpapers offer a smooth transition animation from the lock screen to the home screen.

You also now have three screen on-off animation options to choose from. The call background feature, exclusive to the Vivo Call app, lets you customize call backgrounds, though it’s not available for the Google Dialer.

Performance-wise, Funtouch OS 15 brings some significant improvements. App startup response is 20% faster, while Priority Scheduling boosts startup performance under heavy load by 15%. Memory compression has been improved by 40%, and over 700 user scenarios have been optimized for a smoother touch experience.

The biggest of all is the addition of Origin Animation. This brings the OriginOS animations to Funtouch OS 15 for the first time. The animations are smooth, non-linear, and have a nice blur plus wallpaper scaling when opening and closing apps on the home screen.
