Samsung has been working on the Galaxy S24 series for quite some time. Recent reports suggested that the series could ship with two different chipsets. The Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus are said to come with an Exynos chip in the Asian market, whereas they will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in the United States. The top-tier Galaxy S24 Ultra, however, will retain the Snapdragon processor in all markets. Now, a report suggests that the company will release the smartphone earlier than expected.

Per a report by SBS Biz, Samsung could launch the Galaxy S24 on January 17, 2024. The report also mentions that the launch will take place in San Francisco, United States. Apparently, the company has already worked out the launch and has begun preparing. To reveal the smartphone, Samsung will hold a Galaxy Unpacked event in the United States.

Further, the report also corroborates that the Galaxy S24 will be the first smartphone series by the company to feature AI-based features, such as content/image generation, etc. Samsung Electronics, per the report, is relying on the Mobile Experience (MX) division for its smartphones.

Samsung Will Also Release The Galaxy S23 FE In Korea Next Month

Usually, the Galaxy S series debuts in early February, such as the Galaxy S23, which came out in February 2023. Translating the report from Korean to English, Samsung has preponed the launch to “make up for sluggish semiconductor performance.” However, whether the report is referring to Samsung’s Exynos chips and their sluggish performance isn’t clear at the moment.

Samsung also plans to release the mid-range Galaxy S23 FE in its native market on December 1, 2023. If the report turns out to be accurate, this will be the first time the company will launch an FE series smartphone in Korea, as users generally prefer the highest-end smartphone in the market. The Galaxy S23 FE starts at Rs. 59,999 in India. In Korea, the phone could cost around 800,000 WON.

For Samsung, the Galaxy S23 FE could be a tool to revive the stagnating smartphone market in Korea. Due to the ongoing recession, the government and political circles are criticizing high-priced Samsung smartphones, the flagship Galaxy S23 series. Hence, launching a mid-range smartphone in the market with decent specifications and features could provide customers with an alternative.
