TL; DR
  • Samsung has teased the word “Ultra” ahead of its foldable launch, hinting at a Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra.
  • A separate triple-folding device with three displays is also expected to launch later this year.
  • The teaser confirms a July Unpacked launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Watch 8 series, and more.

Samsung has officially begun teasing its next foldable flagship, and this time the word “Ultra” is front and center. In a new press release titled “Meet the Next Chapter of Ultra,” Samsung used the word “Ultra” several times, describing the upcoming product as one that brings a premium Galaxy experience in a more portable form factor.

The device in the teaser appears to be a book-style foldable with two halves, ruling out the tri-fold design that has been floating in earlier leaks. While the name is not confirmed yet, this teaser heavily points toward a Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra.

Z Fold7 Ultra

According to Samsung, users now expect “an Ultra experience that goes beyond a list of features,” with top-tier hardware, performance, and AI integration. This language strongly mirrors the company’s branding for its Galaxy S Ultra and Tab Ultra lines, making it likely that this year’s foldables will finally receive the same treatment. The Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra is expected to debut at Samsung’s next Unpacked event, scheduled for July in New York.

Alongside the Fold7 Ultra, Samsung is also expected to launch the regular Galaxy Z Fold7, the Galaxy Z Flip7, and three new smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Watch 8 Ultra. All three watches are reportedly getting redesigned chassis, marking the first major hardware shift since the Watch 4 series.

As for the triple-folding Galaxy, it is not the device shown in the teaser. That model, which will feature three separate display panels and a more complex folding mechanism, is still expected to launch alongside the Fold7. Previous reports suggested it might be called the Galaxy G Fold, but that name has not resurfaced. It is now likely that Samsung will call it the Z Fold7 Ultra.

With two high-profile foldables potentially on the roadmap, Samsung seems ready to refresh its lineup more aggressively than in previous years. Whether the Ultra branding is attached to the more traditional Fold7 or the tri-fold, this year’s foldable strategy is shaping up to be its boldest yet.
