GM G+ iSmart Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Review: The Magnetic Travel Charger Every iPhone + Apple Watch User Needs

Wireless charging has finally matured, and if you use both an iPhone and an Apple Watch, carrying separate chargers starts to feel unnecessary. GM Modular, the same brand behind the TravelEase Pro adapter we reviewed last year, has now launched the G+ iSmart Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger.

It is a compact magnetic charger with 15W Qi2 support and a built-in retractable cable, clearly made for people who travel often or just want a cleaner setup.

It promises simultaneous charging for iPhones and Apple Watch models, along with strong magnets for proper alignment and the same retractable cable concept we liked on the previous product. I’ve been testing it for the past week with my iPhone 17, so let’s see if it’s worth it or not.

Design and Build

The iSmart Qi2 is very compact at 3 x 10 x 3 cm and weighs 250 grams. It fits easily into a pocket, pouch, backpack, or desk setup without taking much space, which makes it ideal for travel, office use, or bedside charging.

The black metal body is solid and premium. The glossy front looks nice, though it does pick up fingerprints pretty easily.

The built-in magnets are strong and snap the iPhone into place securely. Alignment is instant, and the phone stays attached even if the table gets bumped. At the bottom, there’s a textured anti-slip pad that helps keep the charger in place.

GM claims support for charging through cases up to 8 mm, and in my testing it worked fine with standard cases.

Retractable Cable

This is the feature that makes the product stand out. The built-in 65 cm USB Type-C cable pulls out when needed and slides back in with a light tug. I liked this same idea on the TravelEase Pro, and it works just as well here.

The only thing to keep in mind is the cable length. On a desk it is usually fine. Near awkward wall sockets, it can feel a little short. GM recommends using a 20W or higher adapter for the best speeds. There is no adapter in the box.

Charging Pads and Features

On top, you get a MagSafe-style pad for iPhone with up to 15W Qi2 charging. Next to it is a smaller raised pad for Apple Watch that charges at around 2.5W.

It is made specifically for Apple Watch, so this is not something you buy for Wear OS or generic smartwatches.

There is also broader Qi2 compatibility. If you use an Android phone with a magnetic case, it can still be useful. Without magnets, you can place the phone carefully on the pad and charge that way.

Safety features include foreign object detection, overcurrent protection, and overtemperature protection.

Performance

I tested it mainly with the iPhone 17, and it consistently charged from 20% to 100% in around 2 to 2.5 hours at the 15 W Qi2 speed, which is in line with what you would expect from a good magnetic wireless charger.

The Apple Watch can be charged alongside it without slowdown or overheating. If you usually charge both devices overnight, this setup is straightforward and reliable.

The strong magnets also help in daily use because alignment is always correct. You do not have to keep adjusting the phone or checking if charging has started.

At home, it fits nicely on a nightstand. While traveling, it replaces two separate chargers in your bag.

The only real drawback I noticed was the 65 cm cable length. It is convenient, though sometimes a little short when the nearest socket is in an awkward position. A longer version would be even better.

Review Verdict: Should You Buy the GM G+ iSmart Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger?

Pros

  • Compact and travel-friendly design
  • Strong magnets with reliable alignment
  • 65 cm retractable USB Type-C cable is genuinely useful
  • True 15W Qi2 charging for iPhone
  • Charges iPhone and Apple Watch together
  • Works through most cases (up to 8 mm)
  • Built-in safety protections
  • Can also work with Android phones using magnetic cases

Cons

  • Cable could be longer
  • Apple Watch only (no other smartwatch support)
  • Glossy surface attracts fingerprints

The GM G+ iSmart Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger is a useful accessory for Apple users who want to travel lighter or reduce desk clutter. The strong magnets, retractable cable, and reliable dual-device charging make it more than just another wireless charger.

If you are tired of carrying multiple chargers and cables, this is an easy product to appreciate. It keeps your setup cleaner, your bag lighter, and your charging routine simpler.
