Google AI Overviews Now Available in India; New Features Added

Google introduced AI Overviews to help make Google Search faster and more useful for users. It gives you a quick glanceable summary of the top search results so that you don’t have to go through them to get the relevant information. AI Overviews, with new added features, is now expanding to six other countries including India.

The other five countries include the UK, Japan, Indonesia, Brazil, and Mexico. Earlier, AI Overviews were only available in English, but they will be available in more languages, including local languages. This will make it easy for users of all kinds to use AI Overviews.

How to Use AI Overviews

Using AI Overviews is pretty straightforward. Open the Google app or go to google.com and search for a query. Once you hit Enter, you’ll see an overview of the top search results in a nice little box. And, of course, you can scroll down to see the search results.

New Features to AI Overviews

Here are some new features that have already rolled out or are coming soon to AI Overviews.

References are now linked to the right of an overview. On mobile, users can access these links by tapping the ellipses on the top right.
Users can now save AI Overviews and come back to them later by tapping the Save button. Users need to be enrolled in the “AI Overviews and more” experiment in Labs to use this feature.
AI Overviews will soon include anchor text within sentences to bring more traffic to the referenced sites.
AI Overviews will soon allow users to simplify the language with a single tap.
