Update: The price that we first reported was spot on! Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are now official in Indian for a starting price of Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 44,999, respectively.

Google’s Pixel 3a XL and Pixel 3a are poorly kept secrets, and we already know quite a bit about the two phones that will go official in India on May 8. We have now learned from a tip that the MRP of the Pixel 3a XL in India is Rs. 44,999. We can expect the Pixel 3a XL market operating price in the country to be nearly the same.

The upcoming Pixel phones also made an appearance on Best Buy stores, revealing their box packaging and color options- Purple-ish, White and Black. An earlier leak from ‘This is Tech Today’ pegged the global price of Pixel 3a at $399 (Approx. 27,600 INR) and that of Pixel 3a XL at $479 (roughly Rs. 33,000).

Of course, the Pixel 3a XL would have made a lot more sense at the global price, but since it isn’t being manufactured here in the country, the additional taxes bloat the India price defeating the purpose of a more accessible mid-range pixel phone. The same sentiment was expressed by credible leaker Ishan Agarwal on his twitter handle.

Anyway, the Pixel phones will be official very soon putting all related rumors to rest. Meanwhile, here are the rumored specs that we know so far.

Thanks for the image and info Vishal
