Google I/O 2022: Hardware Expectations

Speculations are rife that Google will launch Pixel Watch in collaboration with Samsung. The smartwatch might borrow some health sensors from Fitbit as Google acquired Fitbit a while back. It will bring the watch with upgraded Google Wear OS.

Along with the watch, Android 13 is also expected to roll out in the Beta form. Android 13 is said to have new themes, interfaces, and icons. New widgets and new editing tools for Google Photos are also expected.

The most important announcement could be the Google Pixel 6a smartphone that has been in the news for a while now. The smartphone is expected to come to India as well and if leaks are to be believed, then its specs will not really see major upgrades from the existing Pixel 6 series smartphones. Pixel Buds Pro is also tipped to be launched during the I/O. The new TWS is expected to come in Carbon, Fog, Limoncello, and real Red colors.

Some new improvements to Google Assistant are also in the queue to make it a better competitor against Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri. Besides, some Google search advancements might also be seen.

Going by the last few years’ track record, the giant might announce updates for Google Maps, Gmail, Photos, G-pay, and more.
