From Activa to eActiva: Honda’s Electric Evolution

Honda India sent out invitations today for the eActiva launch, scheduled for November 27th. This upcoming electric scooter will mark Honda’s official entry into the Indian electric vehicle market. The eActiva will likely compete with the likes of the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and Ather 450X.

Honda Activa Electric

The Activa has been a hot-selling product for Honda Motorcycle in India, helping the brand establish itself in the 110cc ICE scooter market. The eActiva is expected to offer similar performance to its ICE counterpart. Given that competitors offer around a 100km range on a single charge, we expect the eActiva to match this.

Other features on the eActiva may include LED headlights and taillights, a comfortable and spacious seat, a digital instrument cluster, over-the-air (OTA) update support, TPMS, and more. The eActiva will be manufactured locally at the company’s Karnataka or Gujarat plant. As for pricing, we expect the eActiva to cost close to Rs 1 lakh, roughly 30% more than the ICE variant.
