Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched Honor 9X Pro in India on May 12. This is the first Honor phone to launch in India without Google Mobile Services and also the first to have Huawei App Gallery pre-installed.

Honor 9X Pro is the successor to Honor 9X, launched at the dawn of 2020. Let’s find out what’s new and important.

Honor 9X Pro Features

The Honor 9X Pro features an immersive 6.59-inch full-view display with fine bezels and 92% screen-to-body ratio. Like its predecessor, the front camera has a pop-up mechanism and a 16MP sensor. For photography, Honor 9X Pro gets a triple rear camera module. It includes a 48MP main camera, an 8MP super wide camera with 120° FoV, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Honor 9X Pro is powered with 7nm Kirin 810 octa-core chipset coupled with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and a massive 256GB internal storage, expandable up to 512GB. The battery has a mediocre 4000mAh capacity and fast charge support via USB Type-C port. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted.

No Google Services, Welcome Huawei App Gallery on-board

We had earlier reported that Honor 9X Pro is coming to India without Google apps and the same has been confirmed today with the official launch. Since 9X Pro and upcoming Huawei mobiles won’t offer Google services, the company has a long way to go before it has a viable play store alternative. Apps like Paytm, Aarogya Setu, Voot, Airtel, and Jio are available on App Gallery while the company is looking for a partnership with other service providers like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, etc. to keep the ball rolling. However, users can still download all these apps from their respective official websites.

Honor 9X Pro Price and Availability

The India price of Honor 9X Pro is Rs 17,999 and it will be available in Midnight Black and Phantom Purple color variants. The brand has announced a special early bird sale to offer a discount of Rs 3,000 from midnight of May 21 to May 22, reducing the effective price to Rs. 14,999. The phone will be available only on Flipkart.
