Honor X10 with 5G support coming on May 20

Many of the major smartphone brands are continuing with their launches amid global pandemic. Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has confirmed the launch of their next 5G phone, Honor X10. The new member of the X-series sees some variation in naming – x10 instead of 10X; perhaps because the company doesn’t want users to confuse it with the upcoming Redmi 10X.

First appearing on TENAA last month, the specs of Honor X10 have been all around the internet with no confirmed launch date. Honor has now confirmed the May 20 launch by posting a banner on Weibo. However, the poster doesn’t divulge any spec details except supporting 5G claims.

Honor X10 Expected Features

The Honor X10 is to feature a 6.63-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, revealed TENAA listing. Similar to Honor 9X (review), X10 is rumored to have a notch-less screen and 16MP pop-up front camera. Huawei Kirin 820 chipset was launched recently, and it is believed to be employed in the Honor X10 enabling the device to support 5G connectivity. The Pro version could get the updated Kirin 985 SoC.

The rear camera of Honor X10 is rumored to have a 40MP primary sensor clubbed with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth sensors. The device will get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and 4200mAh battery supporting 22.5W fast charging with USB Type-C.

As the Honor X10 launch approaches, we can expect more leaks to surface.

In other news, Huawei AppGallery is expanding its portfolio and is going to partner with the MapmyIndia Move app for maps, navigation, and location-based services. The company finalized the deal in order to avoid Google map services in its devices.
