PhonePe is one of the most used UPI apps in India. There are several PoS terminals that accept payment via PhonePe and you can also avail attractive cashback when you scan and pay using Phone Pe wallet.

However, the wallet doesn’t allow you to add Money directly using credit cards and thus, it can be a tad inconvenient to go through the anxiety of manually making payments using credit cards, especially when you are standing in a queue at places like Mother Dairy booths. But there is a simple workaround using which you could avoid this hazel and still use the convenience of both credit cards and wallets.

How to add money on PhonePe wallet using a Credit Card

Step 1: Open PhonePe App and log in

Step 2: Now click on My Money tab at the bottom

Step 3: Link your FreeCharge, Airtel Money or JioMoney Wallets using OTP verification

Step 4: Go to the linked wallet app and add money using a credit card.

That’s it.

After a partial KYC (by entering your Pan card or voting card), which takes less than a minute, you can add money using a credit card to these wallets.

Once you have linked these wallets with PhonePe, you can pay at PoS terminals using PhonePe and get the money deducted from any of these wallets.

By making payments using linked wallets on PhonePe, you will still be entitled to all PhonePe Cashback offers.

There are other workarounds for the problem, for instance using virtual debit cards, but this is the most straightforward and convenient method for using PhonePe wallet with Credit cards.

One thing is that often one of the most common incentives for making use of your credit card is a cash-back and also rebate supply. Generally, you’ll have access to 1-5 back on various acquisitions. Depending on the credit cards, you may get 1 back again on most acquisitions, and 5 back on purchases made at convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores and also ‘member merchants’.
