TL; DR
  • OpenAI launched an official “Your Year with ChatGPT” feature for its users.
  • It’s available if you have chat history and memory enabled, and you’ve used ChatGPT enough this year.
  • You can access it by asking ChatGPT “Show me my year with ChatGPT” or looking for the prompt on the home screen.

OpenAI has rolled out its own version of a year-end recap, called “Your Year with ChatGPT.” It’s similar to Spotify Wrapped, pulling from your conversation history to highlight top themes, usage stats like total messages and busiest days, your chat style, an archetype (like “Navigator” or “Tinkerer”), awards, a custom poem, and even an AI-generated pixel art image based on your topics.

The feature is rolling out to individual accounts (free, Plus, Pro) in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, and other countries. It won’t work on Team, Enterprise, or Education accounts. Processing can take a few minutes the first time, but it was instant in my case.

Steps to View Your 2025 ChatGPT Recap

ChatGPT Year in Review

1. Update the ChatGPT app on iOS/Android or use the latest version on chatgpt.com.

2. Make sure your settings allow access: Go to Settings > Data controls, and turn on “Reference chat history” and “Reference saved memories” if they’re off. (If they’ve been disabled all year, the recap will be limited.)

3. Open a new chat and type exactly: “Show me my year with ChatGPT” or “Show my year in review.”

4. Alternatively, check the home screen: OpenAI is promoting it there for eligible users.

5. Swipe through the recap cards. You can share individual slides or screenshots.

If nothing appears or if it’s basic stats only, you might not meet the minimum usage threshold, or try a different account if you have multiple.

That’s it. Enjoy the look back at how much you leaned on AI this year.
