How to apply Delhi Govt ePass and Track Status online

With the resurge in COVID-19 cases in the country, several states in India are imposing partial lockdown or night curfew to restrict the movement of people. Delhi Government has also imposed a night curfew from 10 PM to 5 AM till April 30 in the national capital. Only select categories of individuals are allowed to travel without any restriction. This includes medical staff, government officials, security persons with valid identity cards, pregnant women, patients, and people traveling with a valid ticket to and from railway stations, airports, and bus stands. Meanwhile, people in essential services are permitted to travel, provided they have an e-pass.

Currently, only essentials services like medical shops, groceries, media, telecommunication services, etc. are allowed to operate. So, if you are in essential services, you can operate in lockdown curfew by obtaining an e-pass. Here’s how you can do that:

How to apply curfew e-pass for Delhi online

Delhi citizens can apply for an e-pass online on the Delhi government official web portal.

  1. Open JataSamvad website

    To get an e-pass, one has to go to ‘https://epass.jantasamvad.org/epass/init/’ and select their preferred language

  2. Select e-Pass for travel during night curfew

    Now, the ‘what you need help with?’ page will load with a drop-down menu to choose from. Select ‘e-pass for travel during night-curfew (10 PM-5 AM)’.

  3. Enter your details

    Next, it will ask you to fill in details like contact information, name, address, type of service, the time period for which you need the pass, etc. Upload an ID proof (Aadhaar card, voter ID card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, etc) and document approving the nature of professions like visiting card and shop or business license.

  4. Submit

    Once you have filled in everything, submit your e-pass request. It is advisable to take note of the 7 character ePass ID (sent to your registered mobile number) so that you can track the status of requests.

How to check the ePass Application Status

Wondering if your ePass request has been approved or not? Well, you can check the status of your e-pass request following these steps:

  1. Go to ‘https://epassdocs.epass.jantasamvad.org/epass/status/’ website link.
  2. Enter the previously received ePass ID in the column and click on submit.
  3. A new page will appear showing the status of your ePass application.

Note: A statement from the Delhi government says, “E-Pass is being issued for those who are engaged in providing essential services but do not have a government ID. If your work-related travel is limited to day-time, you Do NOT have to apply for this e-Pass.”
