How To Lock Your Control Center So It Won’t Show Up When Your iPhone Is Locked?

The Control Center on an iPhone provides quick access to various settings, including mobile internet, Wi-Fi, Airplane mode, AirDrop, and more. However, the tool could pose a security risk, especially in the wrong hands. You see, the Control Center of an iPhone is accessible even when the handset is locked, enabling bad actors or malicious users to manipulate a device’s network settings.

For instance, one could enable airplane mode so that the device isn’t reachable with a call. To prevent this from happening, Apple gives you an option to show or hide the Control Center from the lock screen. Hence, if you’re concerned about your device’s security, especially since it contains a lot of personal information, follow the steps given below to lock the Control Center.

Here’s How To Lock The Control Center

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  • Scroll down and tap on “Face ID & Passcode.”
  • Enter your iPhone’s passcode.
  • In the “Face ID & Passcode” menu, look for the “Allow Access When Locked” menu.
  • Locate the “Control Center” toggle and turn it off.
  • Now, lock your iPhone, wake up the screen, and try swiping from the top right corner of the screen. The Control Center won’t open, preventing unauthorized access to change the available settings.

Will The Control Center Appear Elsewhere?

When your Control Center is locked, it isn’t available on the lock screen, but you can still use it normally on the home screen. If you wish to unlock the Control Center at any point, just head to the “Face ID & Passcode” and turn it back on.
